Culture & innovation. That's broad. Fine art, fashion, food, wine, global travel, architecture, design, books, history, galleries, museums, mythology, economics, politics, eco-friendly, social causes. Will adopt stray animals, and often, like humans in danger of straying... Artistically broad... David, and 19th century french art & literature, gothic Victoriana & France... Intellectually curious. Write, research, & speak. Partly I like SU for cultural research for www.2thinknow.com & personally to meet new or unusual people, with diverse artistic tastes or opinions. My fFriends are from very diverse ends of the compass, but if you're creative in some way, chances are we'll get along! So because of my work, I have to say, links DO NOT always represent my considered opinion. which is VERY nuanced.. I take a range of viewpoints, even with flaws in an individual's views, study can be worthwhile.

I found this sad. I have known many good people with depression, and being beautiful does not save it... there is a sense of lack of control, that leads often to depression in my experience. A sense that life is outside one's control. There's some psychological work done on this.

How very sad for this young woman. And yet every day, the same thing happens.

When lives seem outside our control, then people take the ultimate act of control to 're-establish' order. And the hopelessness engendered in many sensitive people by the last 8 years of history have been truly unique...

At the gym yesterday this would have helped. The worst offenders? Surprise surprise. Not young guys. No. Baby boomers trying to retain their youth. Note to old man: towels do not reserve benches when a) there is only one spare with your towel on it and b) after you've left it unoccupied for a few minutes. Methinks the baby boomer males want to run the world for ever.

I, of course, duly threw it on the floor ... so... I could see a Seinfeld episode in this...!
