I have known many good people with depression, and being beautiful does not save it... there is a sense of lack of control, that leads often to depression in my experience. A sense that life is outside one's control. There's some psychological work done on this.

How very sad for this young woman. And yet every day, the same thing happens.

When lives seem outside our control, then people take the ultimate act of control to 're-establish' order. And the hopelessness engendered in many sensitive people by the last 8 years of history have been truly unique...

Methinks the baby boomer males want to run the world for ever.
